Maks Skill Games operates its machines in accordance with applicable Texas law governing skill-based amusement devices. This page is provided for general informational purposes to help current and prospective partners understand how our machines operate within that framework.
The machines MSG places are skill-based amusement devices. Outcomes are determined, at least in part, by the player's own ability, judgment, or skill, rather than purely by chance, consistent with the legal standard for skill-based amusement machines under Texas law.
MSG owns, delivers, installs, and services every machine we place. We handle applicable registration, licensing, and compliance requirements associated with our equipment so that our partner businesses do not have to manage this process themselves.
Partner businesses agree to allow MSG to install and operate machines on their premises and to keep the machines in a location consistent with our placement and service agreement. Location partners are also responsible for letting MSG know as soon as possible if they receive any notice, citation, inquiry, or become aware of any new law, ordinance, or regulation affecting the machines at their location, so that we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
Our machines are intended for use by individuals 18 years of age or older. Every machine we place carries an age-restriction sticker stating this requirement. While MSG provides this signage on each unit, partner locations are responsible for enforcing the age requirement on their premises, consistent with how they would enforce other age-restricted activities in their business.
Each machine we place also displays the following printed disclosure for players:
"This game requires a player to use his or her skill for the possibility of gaining a cash reward. Because of this requirement: (i) the machine is NOT a gambling device, and (ii) the act of playing this machine is NOT considered gambling under Texas law (see Tex. Penal Code § 47.01 and § 47.02). Players must be 18 years of age to play."
